In 2005, Monotype Imaging announced the Monotype Foundation, a UK-based nonprofit organization focused on funding and promoting education, research and achievement within the typographic arts community worldwide. However, Monotype Imaging has chosen to fund beneficiaries directly, as we believe this to be a simpler and more efficient approach for meeting the goals of the foundation. The Monotype Foundation as a separate entity, therefore, has closed. All activities of the foundation have been redirected to Monotype Imaging, where potential beneficiaries may continue to seek our support. |

We value the relationships we have with our customers, colleagues and the communities in which we live and work. Monotype Imaging emphasizes community involvement and participates in activities to benefit local charities. In 2001, our company was named corporate sponsor of the year by the Lawrence, Mass. affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. |

Our support has extended to the Special Olympics organization, a nonprofit company with roots dating back to 1962, when Eunice Kennedy Shriver began a summer day camp for children and adults with intellectual disabilities at her home in Maryland. Through encouragement and instruction, the Special Olympics organization has raised awareness that individuals with intellectual disabilities can prove themselves more athletically capable than what may seem possible. Today, Special Olympics organizations worldwide provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions featuring a variety of Olympic-type sports. Participants receive many benefits, from the opportunity to develop physical fitness to the experience of feeling pure joy. |
